Biography

Lance Engolia, Jr. is a trial attorney at The Cossé Law Firm. He handles a variety of civil litigation cases, with a primary focus on catastrophic personal injuries, 18-wheeler accidents, corporate vehicle accidents, general motor vehicle accidents, and fire explosion injuries. A champion in the courtroom, Lance’s litigation experience includes suits involving a vast array of personal injury cases spanning across many parishes in Louisiana.

As a Louisiana native, Lance began his secondary education at Louisiana State University (LSU), where he majored in Sports Administration, with a minor in Business. Upon graduation, Lance continued his education at Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center. While at LSU law, Lance served as the Vice President of the Sports Law Society and participated in various trial advocacy competitions against some of the top law schools in the country.

He later received both a Juris Doctorate degree and his graduate degree in Comparative Law from the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center. Upon passing the Louisiana State Bar Exam, Lance accepted a position with our firm as an Associate Attorney and has truly found a passion for practicing personal injury law. Lance joined the firm after gaining valuable judicial experience from his externship with Justice William Crain of the Louisiana Supreme Court.  At time of his externship, Justice Crain was a member of the Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeal until his election to the Louisiana Supreme Court in 2019.

Lance is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, the Academy of New Orleans Trial Lawyers, and the Louisiana Association for Justice. He is admitted to practice in all state courts in Louisiana as well as the United States District Court for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Louisiana.

In his spare time, Lance enjoys traveling and spending time with his two amazing daughters. As a Louisiana native and a two-time LSU alumnus, Lance is an avid LSU and Saints fan and attends many of the games.
